Here is my first stone carving, it is a "Loon" - a bird. This one is swimming in a lake.

I enjoyed doing this very much. I had never done a stone sculpture before, and I thought this turned out to be very nice, especiall for my first attempt.
The stone is "steatite" from Canada, it has a greenish tinge in places, and is translucent white, grey,and black in other places..
It is about 4 inches long by 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide.
I finished this on September 10, 2003.
